Description

  • Drive customer satellite-system development with a focus on flight software delivery.
  • Lead the full systems-engineering lifecycle, including requirements definition, validation, verification, and operations.
  • Develop, decompose, flow down, and manage software and avionics subsystem requirements.
  • Perform system design and trade studies to support detailed spacecraft design decisions.
  • Develop verification matrices and test and analysis plans, and support buy-off/sell-off activities.
  • Ensure systems-engineering processes, requirements traceability, and RVTMs are properly maintained.
  • Resolve and troubleshoot flight-software anomalies.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure technical requirements are met.
  • Support spacecraft product roadmaps, including design, schedule, cost targets, and customer customization processes.
  • Evolve spacecraft products and promote cost savings through reuse of heritage platform designs and manufacturing infrastructure.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related scientific field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 15 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 12 years with a master’s degree.
  • Proven aerospace software systems experience spanning conceptual design, tradeoffs, detailed design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and operations.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Experience with systems architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, and requirements verification and validation, including RVTMs.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methods.
  • Experience with requirements-management tools such as DOORS or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with broader space mission architecture, including launch, flight operations, mission CONOPS, and user interfaces.
  • Experience performing or leading specialty engineering analyses such as affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, security, certification, or product assurance.
