Description

  • Own day-to-day people operations, including HRIS administration, records management, contract changes, onboarding, offboarding, and holiday tracking.
  • Coordinate payroll changes with the finance team and support salary benchmarking cycles and benefits renewals.
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready people documentation to support SOC2, ISO, and finance audits.
  • Liaise with Employer of Record providers across Germany, Portugal, Spain, and North America on local employment requirements and country-specific issues.
  • Support managers with people matters including performance, absence, disciplinary, and grievance cases.
  • Coach and advise managers through difficult people situations and help build their capability over time.
  • Work with external employment law advisors on complex employee relations cases and keep senior stakeholders informed.
  • Monitor employment law changes across operating regions and flag policy or process implications.
  • Lead efforts to embed AI tools and automation into People team processes.
  • Identify and improve or eliminate inefficient processes to reduce manual work.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in a generalist People/HR role, ideally in a lean or scaling tech business.
  • Solid people operations experience with HRIS, records, and day-to-day process ownership.
  • Exposure to employee relations cases such as absence, performance, disciplinary, or grievance matters.
  • People partnering experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong operational ownership and attention to detail so systems and processes do not fall through the cracks.
  • Compliance awareness with the ability to keep the business audit-ready and work across multiple regions.
  • Ability to work with external advisors and Employer of Record providers to resolve country-specific employment questions.
  • Curiosity and willingness to use AI and automation to improve People team work.
  • Adaptability in a fast-moving, less-defined environment.
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and sound judgment when handling sensitive matters.
