Description

  • Provide advice and legal opinions on Australian law.
  • Review cross-border matters for Australian-law implications.
  • Draft and review Australian-law agreements and procedural documents.
  • Handle corporate, commercial, property, immigration, family, and private-client matters as applicable.
  • Manage civil and commercial disputes, litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution.
  • Advise on recognition, enforcement, regulatory, and compliance matters.
  • Represent clients before Australian courts, tribunals, authorities, and institutions where permitted.
  • Conduct Australian legal research and prepare memoranda.
  • Negotiate with Australian counterparties.
  • Coordinate with Greek and other foreign counsel on multi-jurisdictional matters.

Requirements

  • Be fully admitted to the Australian legal profession.
  • Hold a current practicing certificate permitting practice in Victoria.
  • Be in good standing with the relevant Australian regulatory authority.
  • Have at least five years of post-qualification legal experience.
  • Maintain required professional indemnity insurance.
  • Be based in Melbourne or able to provide legal services in Victoria.
  • Demonstrate strong legal drafting, analytical, advisory, and client-management skills.
  • Work independently with sound professional judgment.
  • Have excellent written and spoken English.
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality, ethics, and responsiveness.
  • Experience in corporate and commercial law, litigation, contracts, cross-border disputes, private international law, arbitration, property, immigration, family, or private-client law is preferred.
  • Experience with international, European, Greek, or Greece–Australia matters is advantageous; Greek language skills are beneficial but not required.
  • Submit professional details, relevant experience, language information, insurance confirmation, and proposed hourly or matter-based rates.
