Description

  • Design, operate, and harden the live AV pipeline from ingest through transport, packaging, and CDN delivery across multiple clouds and regions.
  • Manage multi-cloud DevOps and SRE work across AWS and Tencent Cloud, with GCP as an additional platform when needed.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
  • Implement and monitor observability using CloudWatch, structured logging, and tracing.
  • Configure, debug, and optimize CDN delivery, including cache keys, signed URLs or token authentication, origin shielding, purge strategies, and multi-CDN failover.
  • Develop low-latency backend services in Go and build tooling, glue code, and probes in Python.
  • Apply networking knowledge to troubleshoot UDP/TCP, NAT/firewalls, TLS/mTLS, BGP/anycast concepts, and packet-level issues using tools like tcpdump and Wireshark.
  • Work with live streaming protocols and packaging workflows, including RTP, SRT, RTMP, HLS, DASH, and low-latency delivery tradeoffs.
  • Support security and access controls, including source authentication, credential rotation, IAM scoping, secrets handling, and DRM key protection.
  • Collaborate on 24/7 live service reliability and incident response for streaming systems at scale.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with AWS and Tencent Cloud, or a willingness to ramp up quickly on Tencent Cloud.
  • Experience with GCP is a plus.
  • Strong experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tooling.
  • Practical experience with observability tools such as CloudWatch, structured logs, and tracing.
  • Experience configuring and debugging at least one major CDN such as CloudFront, Tencent CDN/CSS, or G-Core.
  • Solid programming experience in Go and Python.
  • Strong networking fundamentals, including UDP vs TCP, NAT/firewalls, TLS/mTLS, and packet-level debugging.
  • Understanding of streaming technologies such as RTP, SRT, RTMP, HLS, and DASH.
  • High-level understanding of DRM systems such as Widevine, FairPlay, and PlayReady.
  • Security-focused approach to authentication, IAM, secrets handling, and key protection.
  • Nice to have: China or APAC delivery experience, including Tencent, Alibaba Cloud, or ICP licensing realities.
  • Nice to have: experience with GStreamer or FFmpeg internals and transcoding pipelines.
  • Nice to have: gRPC service design and protobuf schema evolution experience.
  • Nice to have: hands-on experience with WHIP/WHEP, Low-Latency HLS, and MPEG-TS.
  • Nice to have: multi-CDN orchestration or steering experience, such as NPAW or Cedexis-style logic.
  • Nice to have: experience running 24/7 live services at scale.
