Description

  • Create and continuously improve virtual training sessions that prepare volunteer captains for success.
  • Partner with communications staff on recruitment templates and social media toolkits.
  • Identify creative opportunities to strengthen the program’s impact and refine its model.
  • Co-design and maintain training curriculum using existing resources and lived experience.
  • Own and update shared program materials, including the messaging house, guides, FAQs, and one-pagers.
  • Lead live virtual trainings for captains across dozens of states and hundreds of counties.
  • Train staff to facilitate trainings and virtual events.
  • Adapt training delivery for different audiences, including rural and suburban participants and different age groups.
  • Run biweekly office hours for captains, including peer learning opportunities.
  • Coordinate part-time trainer schedules, backups, and coverage at least two weeks in advance.
  • Hold weekly one-on-ones with each direct report.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience managing staff and volunteers in a campaign environment.
  • Extensive experience training and managing volunteers.
  • Strong training and facilitation skills, with the ability to coach others on emotional intelligence, empathy, and boundary management.
  • Comfort presenting and performing in a virtual environment.
  • Experience in theater, podcasting, or micro-influencing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with rural communities and rural organizing is preferred.
  • Experience in the food service or retail industry is strongly preferred.
  • Creative, opportunistic, adaptable, and proactive approach to fast-moving work.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize under pressure.
  • Mission-driven commitment to strengthening the Democratic Party and civic power.
  • Ability to give and receive feedback effectively.

  • Annual salary of $72,000–$78,000.
  • $700/month pre-tax work-life stipend starting August 1.
