Description

  • Contribute to the creation of K-12 assessments by executing assessment blueprints and developing high-quality content.
  • Use and help improve content and item management systems.
  • Ensure assessment items align with state standards and item development best practices.
  • Collaborate with product, design, engineering, and assessment teammates to improve the learner experience.
  • Innovate with new item types enabled by AI technologies.
  • Work closely with the broader ELA assessments team to support standards coherence and alignment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of classroom experience teaching elementary school ELA.
  • Experience developing grades 3-5 ELA assessments.
  • Deep pedagogical expertise and knowledge of state and national standards.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and experience working on time-sensitive collaborative projects.
  • Project management skills, including fluency with Google Docs, spreadsheets, and similar tools.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and use AI tools as assistants in content creation.
  • Proven cross-cultural competency and ability to work with inclusive perspectives.
  • A growth mindset, curiosity, and a bias to action.
  • Passion for education and motivation by Khan Academy’s mission.
  • Nice to have: middle school assessment experience.
  • Candidates with significantly more experience may be considered for hire at the Senior level.
