Description

  • Learn each business function deeply by working directly with department teams and understanding how their work actually happens.
  • Partner with sales, operations, marketing, and finance leaders to develop technical solutions to problems they have identified.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for automations, data products, and integrations that create new capabilities for the company.
  • Build, productionize, and deploy working tools quickly using AI coding tools and low/no-code platforms.
  • Own the full development lifecycle from scope definition through deployment.
  • Document solutions lightly so non-technical teammates can self-serve where appropriate.
  • Communicate with department managers to translate business problems into useful technical specifications.
  • Help the company learn and build better systems by turning rough ideas into practical solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building production-grade systems.
  • AI-native experience using tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, and Copilot.
  • Full-stack proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and SQL at a minimum.
  • Strong experience with low/no-code automation tools such as Zapier, Make, n8n, Airtable, Retool, or equivalents.
  • Experience shipping internal tools or CRMs end-to-end, including frontend, backend, database, and deployment.
  • Comfort speaking with non-technical stakeholders and turning conversations into clear specs.
  • Self-directed, async-friendly, and able to communicate well in writing.
  • Available to be reachable within 24 hours on weekdays and to schedule live calls with Boston/ET-based managers when needed.
  • Preferred: experience at a small or mid-sized non-tech company in CPG, beverage, food, or retail.
  • Preferred: experience with sales forecasting, demand planning, or time-series modelling.
  • Preferred: experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar data warehouses.
  • Preferred: familiarity with CPG data sources such as distributor sales data, Shopify, QuickBooks, and NetSuite.
  • Preferred: built side projects with AI tools.
  • Preferred: background in data engineering or analytics.
