Description

  • Build production-standard course artifacts, including an instrumented optimizer and analytical brief.
  • Implement optimizers from first principles and analyze gradient flow, learning-rate schedules, and regularization.
  • Develop and document reproducible AI/ML experiments and workflows.
  • Create technical educational content suitable for publication, workshops, documentation, or open-source projects.
  • Use cloud and containerized environments to run CPU and GPU-based machine learning workloads.
  • Explain probability, information theory, and machine learning concepts clearly in professional written English.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience shipping production software, including 2+ years in production AI/ML.
  • Ability to implement optimizers without relying on built-in framework optimizers.
  • Working fluency in probability and information theory, including likelihood, entropy, and KL divergence.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, Jupyter, Docker, matplotlib, and Weights & Biases.
  • Experience with at least one cloud VM platform—AWS, GCP, or Azure—and Modal using CPU and T4/A10 GPUs.
  • Public technical writing samples demonstrating publication-quality explanations.
  • Strong reproducibility practices, including pinned dependencies, containers, seeded runs, and documented decoding parameters.
  • Professional written English.
