Description

  • Turn conversational footage into focused short-form stories with strong hooks, structure, and pacing.
  • Select compelling moments and build complete narratives using the founder’s messaging guidance.
  • Preserve each client’s voice and meaning while removing repetition, tangents, and distractions.
  • Add captions, framing, B-roll, punch-ins, and supporting visuals where they improve clarity or engagement.
  • Deliver clean audio and platform-ready videos after checking subtitles, visuals, and overall flow.
  • Manage recurring content and revisions across 4–6 clients, completing approximately 3–4 videos per day.
  • Adapt editing style to each client, speaker, and brand.
  • Proactively identify unclear messaging or delivery risks and apply feedback to reduce future direction needed.

Requirements

  • Portfolio featuring Instagram Reels and talking-head, interview, podcast, founder, executive, thought-leadership, or personal-brand content.
  • 3–5 years of professional video editing experience preferred, ideally including 2+ years in social content; exceptional candidates with 1–2 years may be considered.
  • Proficiency in CapCut, including captions, pacing, framing, B-roll, punch-ins, basic audio cleanup, and finishing.
  • Strong short-form storytelling and editorial judgment focused on audience retention and authentic communication.
  • Strong English comprehension and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, organization, and ability to manage recurring edits, revisions, and deadlines independently.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday during Central Time hours and collaborate directly with a founder.
  • Experience working with founders or startups preferred.
  • Experience with Descript preferred; familiarity with Premiere Pro or comparable editing software is a plus.
  • Background editing for personal brands, consultants, coaches, agencies, podcasters, or professional-service businesses is a plus.
