Description

  • Lead negotiation of investment-related NDAs, Engagement Letters, joinder agreements, and non-reliance letters.
  • Manage the contract process from initial review through negotiation and document execution.
  • Review and negotiate documents in line with client playbooks and agreed positions.
  • Work directly with counterparties to progress pre-M&A contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with other Avantia lawyers and paralegals on active matters.
  • Handle fast-paced, high-volume workloads while meeting rapid turnaround times.
  • Prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines effectively across the workweek.
  • Provide crisp, concise, and commercially pragmatic legal advice to clients.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the UK, Europe, USA, or Canada.
  • Fluent in French and/or German.
  • 5+ years of corporate or transactional law experience, either in-house or in private practice.
  • Experience independently negotiating investment-related NDAs and Engagement Letters.
  • Familiarity with asset managers, investment banks, or other financial services firms is preferable but not essential.
  • Strong grasp of relevant legal concepts.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing, and dynamic environment.
  • Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Availability for the stated recruitment process, including a talent team call, contract mark-up exercise, and interview with Legal Directors.
