Description

  • Review, negotiate, and manage investment-related NDAs, joinder agreements, engagement letters, and non-reliance letters.
  • Own the contract process from initial review through negotiation and document execution.
  • Work from client playbooks to align negotiation positions and contractual terms.
  • Collaborate closely with Avantia lawyers and paralegals on high-volume matters.
  • Communicate directly with counterparties during negotiations.
  • Deliver rapid turnaround on pre-M&A contract matters.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining service quality.
  • Provide concise, practical legal advice throughout the negotiation process.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the USA or Canada.
  • 2+ years of corporate or transactional law experience in-house or in private practice.
  • Experience independently negotiating investment-related NDAs.
  • Familiarity with asset managers, investment banks, or other financial services firms preferred.
  • Must be based in North America due to time zones and client turnaround requirements.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong grasp of relevant legal concepts with a commercial and pragmatic outlook.
  • Available for a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.
