Description

  • Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team.
  • Lead engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems and support delivery.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics during ideation and product development.
  • Articulate technical constraints and partner on decisions that account for risk and trade-offs.
  • Identify and escalate project, process, technology, or business issues and lead efforts to resolve them.
  • Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics and participating in on-call and maintenance efforts.
  • Set and improve code review and design standards and advocate for quality practices across the organization.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to help develop talent on the team.
  • Contribute to writing and tech talks that promote standards and ownership.
  • Work closely with European engineering counterparts and global Servicing Engineering teams to deliver cohesive solutions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
  • Experience with Python, Kotlin, or similar backend languages.
  • Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to building web apps with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
  • Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components.
  • Ability to write high-quality code that is easy for others to understand and use.
  • Experience making significant changes in a large codebase while using tools and practices that enable safe delivery.
  • Demonstrated ownership of personal growth and openness to feedback.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with global engineering teams.
