Front-End Developer

About us

We’re a small friendly team that specialises in creating user-led digital experiences, products, and apps. We believe that meaningful and memorable products are best delivered by small, cross-functional teams, where regular collaboration and support helps to forge trusted friendships. People come first, and it’s because of this approach that our clients choose to work with us.

We’re comfortable and confident with venturing into new business sectors, whether that’s working with blue-chip organisations or new to market startups. Solving problems with design and technology are what we do best.

To learn more about what we get up to, take a look at our blog page, or take a look at what our clients say about us on our review page.

The role

We’re on the lookout for a Junior Front-End Developer to join our team. Working closely with our Senior Front-End Developer and Technical Director, you’ll oversee front-end development for clients spanning a variety of sectors, including security, intelligence and pharma. From building bespoke SPAs and living pattern libraries to making more traditional content websites with WordPress and Craft, your work will help to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and ultimately change the way our clients’ businesses work.

Our stack varies per project. As a team we’re currently using: React, Vue, Webpack, Babel, Yarn, Twig, Craft, WordPress, Craft, Git, Sass, BEM, AWS, Docker, Laravel, Symfony and Go.

Who we’re looking for

Your understanding of UX will play a crucial part in our agile design and development process. Being confident with both visual design and front-end development, you feel comfortable voicing your opinion and articulating your solutions to clients.

You’re comfortable using the latest languages and frameworks, helping to ensure the team picks the right tools for the job. You enjoy chatting about your ideas and concepts just as much as you like to design and build them. Perhaps your entrepreneurial spirit has even led you to develop a few web apps of your own.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience writing clean HTML and CSS (with and without frameworks)
  • Experience writing modern JavaScript (ES6) with module-bundlers and transpilers
  • Experience with JS frameworks/libraries such as React or Vue.js
  • Experience creating UI pattern libraries/design systems
  • An understanding of visual tools such as Figma, Sketch or XD
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (WordPress/Craft)
  • Experience using version control (Git)
  • Excellent attention to detail

It would be great if you have:

  • Experience working with RESTful and GraphQL based APIs
  • An understanding of CSS methodologies (BEM/SMACSS)
  • An understanding of templating languages (Twig/Blade)

It would be ideal if you have:

  • Experience with backend languages/frameworks (PHP, Laravel, Node.js, Express)
  • A basic understanding of containerisation (Docker)
  • Experience with issue/project tracking software (such as Jira)

Working with us

We’ve been working as a remote-first team for over two years, with small offices in London and Barcelona.
